IDA WILL BE PAID SOON, SAYS DDG(ACCTS ).

AIBDPA delegation of Coms. K. G. Jayaraj, Patron, R. Muraleedharan Nair, General Secretary and M G S Kurup, Treasurer have met Shri. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, DDG ( Accounts ), Department of Telecommunications on 13-03-2026 and discussed the issue of confusion in payment of IDA from 01-01-2026. The delegation brought to his notice that though the order was issued by DPE on 27-02-2026 with certain conditions, the payment is not made which has created apprehension among the absorbed BSNL Retirees.

The DDG( Accts ) replied that nothing to worry about the IDA and action is being taken for the payment as BSNL MTNL absorbed Pensioners are paid their pensionary benefits by the government by virtue of Rule 37A.

The delegation also met Shri. Sunil Kumar, Director ( Estt ) and pursued the case of Smt Damayanti Shrimali, widow of Shri.Shrimali, TT, Ahmadabad, Gujarat about the delay in granting of lump sum compensation of Rs. 10 lakh for dying in harness while on duty. The delegation pointed out that the case is pending for a long time and wanted early settlement.

Director stated that the case is being processed  and assured to settle early.

The delegation actually had hoped to have meeting with Secretary, DoT and had sought appointment in advance to discuss some important issues including pensionary benefits to ST VRS Retirees of Maharashtra, Notional Increment to VRS 2019 retirees.However, he happened to be very busy with some important meetings through out the day.
